Brewing Heady's Mushroom Coffee
Mushroom Grind
Our Mushroom Coffee is already ground. The grind is ideal for a drip brewer or french press. If you desire a pour-over or espresso please let us know when orderng and we will grind to that size.
The brew
We always recommend brewing at a 1:15 ratio. If brewing an 8 ounce cup we would brew 15.8 grams of coffee.
An 8 ounce cup is 237 grams/ML. 237 divided by 15 equals 15.8.
French Press recipe
Water Temp - 93 to 96 Celsius.
Grind Size: Medium coarse. Think slightly smaller than kosher salt.
Stee 1: 22 grams of freshly roasted coffee.
Add 60 grams of water to grounds. Swirl gently. Wait :30 seconds.
Step 2: Pour remaing 295 grams of water slowly to reach 355 grams/ML total.
Step 3: Stir gently three times and place cap on (do not plunge).
Step 4: Steep for 4 minnutes.
Step 5: Remove plunger. Use spoon to remove floating grounds/foam. Settle for one minute. Insert plunger just enough to hold back grounds. Do not plunge all the way.
Step 6: Fully plunge. Pour into cup. Enjoy!
