Tanzania - Washed Gesha

NEEL AND KAVITA VOHORA

Gesha's are always special. Gesha is the type of varietal that makes the roaster's heart skip a beat when they crack open the box of green coffee. A washed Gesha filled with intricacy and intimacy makes them sweat with fear. Thankfully, we nailed this roast. Melon bombs bursting on your palate with a curious peach note peaking through the crack of the door. This is a complex, divine washed Gesha that is as special as they come.

Finagro Estate

Neel and Kavita Vohora, a powerhouse sibling duo growing coffee along the southern slopes of the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest unbroken caldera, and a living, breathing miracle carved into the Tanzanian highlands. They’ve been farming here for decades, on about 1000 acres of heaven near Karatu in the Rift Valley, a place that feels like the Earth whispering its oldest stories.

Washed Gesha

This is a fermented and washed Gesha variety coffee from Karatu, Tanzania, produced by siblings Neel and Kavita Vohora on their Gaia Farm. The flavor profile is elegant and a little bit mysterious, with sublime sweetness and the expected notes of bright orange, ripe peach, and jasmine alongside pistachio ice cream and apricot jam. When brewed, we liked the clarity and depth of an updosed V60 with a long extraction time.
