Colombia - Yessica Parra - Pink Bourbon

Yessica Parra's - Pink Bourbon

Pink Bourbon has become one of the heavyweight varieties in Colombian specialty coffee.

It’s famous for being wildly complex, aromatic, sweet, floral, and fruit-driven. And that’s exactly why we wanted this version. The wash processing strips away much of the noise and lets the variety speak. And Pink Bourbon has a LOT to say. Think bright fruit, flowers, sweetness, and that clean, almost ridiculous kind of acidity that makes you immediately reach for another sip.

Our lot comes from Yessica Parra, a female producer in Colombia.

There’s something we really love about putting coffees like this in your hands. It is not because they’re trendy coffees. Rather, it is because they demonstrate what happens when producers grow something unusual, harvest it properly, and let the coffee speak for itself.

Yessica Parra, Diwan Coffee

After graduating from high school, Yessica decided to take coffee-related courses. She was surprised to discover how vast the coffee world was, and how close it had always been to her life.

As she grew in knowledge, Yessica began involving her brother, sharing with him what she had learned. Diego gradually developed an interest as well, and together they founded Diwan Coffee, a brand created to roast and sell their own coffee.

Today, Diwan Coffee has grown into a roasted coffee brand that combines their own production with that of allied producers. In November 2024, they officially launched their brand, and this shipment marks their very first export together.

In the Cup

Think bright fruit, flowers, sweetness, and that clean, almost ridiculous kind of acidity that makes you immediately reach for another sip. We taste heavy lemongrass notes with some panela adding some sweetness to the palate. There is a hint of passion fruit acidity to brighten up the cup.

This is a clean pink bourbon highlighting what make the varietal so attractive to coffee snobs everywhere.
